HOLY TRINITY SUNDAY
INTRODUCTION:
Today we celebrate the feast of the Blessed Trinity. We rejoice that God is a loving community, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We all need a loving community and a home where we are accepted, and where we find understanding, help and love. Just remember when you felt alone, abandoned by people, rejected by your friends and forgotten by your relatives! The feast of the Blessed Trinity has a great message of hope and joy for us: God himself is a community and he has accepted us into his household. He marked us as his children when we were baptised in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God himself is our promised land, our home and shelter.
GOSPEL: MATTHEW 28: 16-20
The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them. When they all saw him, they worshipped, but they doubted. Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”
