26th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR A
INTRODUCTION:
We expect God to console or strengthen us. We do not like it very much when we are challenged and told that something is wrong with us. However, we know that in whatever God says or does God only wants what is best for us. We talk a lot about God but find it hard to do his will, yet there are others who might not even belong to a church but may do God’s will better than us. Do we say, “Yes Father, your will be done?”
GOSPEL: Mathew 21: 28 – 32
Jesus said to the chief priests and elders of the people:
“What is your opinion? A man had two sons. He came to the first and said, ‘Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.’ He said in reply, ‘I will not, ‘but afterwards changed his mind and went. The man came to the other son and gave the same order. He said in reply, ‘Yes, sir, ‘but did not go. Which of the two did father’s will?” They answered, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Amen, I say to you, tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you. When John came to you in the way of righteousness, you did not believe him; but tax collectors and prostitutes did. Yet even when you saw that, you did not later change your minds and believe him.”
CATECHISM CLASSES
No classes this week at RPP. Classes resume on 13 October 2023. St Jude catechism classes continue as normal @ 9h00 on Sunday before Mass.
BAPTISM CLASSES
Classes for Babies and children will be starting soon. If you wish for your child to be baptised. Contact Brenda Amod on 0763796891 for RPP and Bryonni Martin on 0828497844 for St. Jude.

DEDICATION TO OUR LADY
The month of October is dedicated to our Lady. We honour her & give thanks for her protection of the church in answer to the praying of the Rosary.
We will pray the Rosary EVERYDAY at both RPP and St. Jude @ 17:30. If any of the groups or Sodalities would like to lead the Rosary Prayer please contact the Parish office, so we can draw up a roster.
WORLD MISSION SUNDAY 22/10/2023
Open-air Mass at the Spar parking lot in Francis Rd.
We will proceed in procession from RPP parking lot at 8 a.m. During the procession to Spar, we will recite the rosary.
NB: There WILL BE Mass on Saturday evening (21/10) at 5:30 pm at RPP for the elderly, all other parishioners are encouraged to attend Mass on Sunday.

We pray for the Church, that she may adopt listening and dialogue as a lifestyle at every level, and allow herself to be guided by the Holy Spirit towards the peripheries of the world.
SICK & ELDERLY
Please pray for the sick & elderly of the parish, family & friends especially:

CANCER AWARENESS
15 October (Sunday) The Nurses Guild has organised a health awareness campaign @ RPP. There will be a doctor to speak about cancer issues & a nurse to speak about mental issues surrounding cancer.
After Mass, there will be time for private consultation.
A mobile clinic will also be available for a health check-up, especially for cancer symptoms.
