INTRODUCTION:

If you want to achieve something in life, you need to be a hard and powerful person. This is what many people say. But, it is not what Christ says. He praised the humble. And he was a humble, gentle person himself. We are his disciples. We have promised that we will follow his way. But we have not always done so and therefore we need to ask for God’s pardon and forgiveness. 

GOSPEL: MATHEW 11: 25 – 30

At that time Jesus exclaimed: “I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to little ones. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.” “Come to me, all you who labour and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”

The collection for the 2nd quarter of 2023 was: RPP R1840 & St Jude R780, a total of R2620. Of that R2400 has been sent to the Diocese. The remainder goes towards the Deanery Mass collection, which is also for the Seminarians’ Fund, in August.

This is a lovely picture of the St John Vianney Seminary where our future priests are trained. The nun in the photo lost her life while saving patients at the Maria Ratschitz Hospice.
